Entertain at BigHorn Rodeo 2009

Show your talent at BigHorn Rodeo! Entertainers are needed for the dance and entertainment tent to be set up at Horseman's Park.  The more entertainers we can get, the more money that can be donated to our beneficiaries.  Please fill out an Entertainer volunteer form either online or print it out and send it to us.  It would be an honor to have you as a part of BigHorn Rodeo 2009.

*While not required, NGRA requests that entertainer tips be donated to our charities*

PLEASE SCROLL DOWN TO FILL OUT THE ENTERTAINER VOLUNTEER FORM!

NGRA BigHorn Rodeo 2009 has a lot of exciting entertainment planned for you enjoyment!  We will have a dance tent for your enjoyment throughout the Rodeo as well as throughout the evening on Friday and Saturday.  Join us and dance the day and night away!

We are pleased to be able to offer you top-notch entertainment as well. Along with our featured entertainers you can enjoy both local and out of state entertainers.  The list grows every day – you never know who you may see under the entertainment tent!

Mike Schikora  "The Colorado Cowboy"

performing Friday & Saturday night!

Mike Schikora’s motto is “If you can live without the necessities, you can afford the luxuries!” He’s been living that motto for over five years now. In that time, he’s twice ridden his horse over the Continental Divide (he lives in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado), became a partner in his own independent record label (Front Range Records), and continues to write songs for his own publishing company, Tuck and Go Music.

He’s come a long way since he first arrived in Nashville in 1987, where he landed a publishing deal as a staff song writer. During his seven years in Nashville, he fine-tuned his writing. When he paired with this powerful, unique high-lonesome tenor, he received a lot of attention. Playing at all the clubs and getting passed over by all the major record labels didn’t discourage him his ambition. Mike kept at it until a well-known industry friend advised Mike that some time spent off Music Row may do him some good, because his songs were getting “too Nashville.” And getting back to the mountains was just what Mike needed, reminding him of his youth growing up in the northwest corner of Montana.

His lyrics are better now than ever, and he still has that mature strong tenor to back up his catchy melodies. From the simple straight ahead country shuffle in his song “Colorado Cowboy,” to the amazing blues fiddle work on “Poor Lonely Me,” to the anthem feel of his tribute to his hometown “Montana Skies” showcase exactly that.
